Sleeping Tips and Tricks
Relaxation Techniques: (books are available on this subject)
· Make yourself comfortable
· Breathe slow and deep and say to yourself “I’m calm, I’m relaxed”.
· Feel and imagine your body become more heavy and relaxed with every breath you take start with your feet and move up your body.
· Then feel and imagine a sensation of warmth through your body again start with your feet and move up through your body.
· Focus on your face, feel your face and facial muscles become more relaxed and warm.
· Once in this relaxed state imagine you are in a place that makes you happy and calm. Somewhere warm and outdoors would be ideal.
· Then just let yourself drift off to sleep.
Many more self relaxation techniques are available and would be very useful to try.
Other Sleeping Tips
· Avoid caffeine after 12 am (midday )
· Ensure you are hydrated by drinking enough water
· Regular exercise
· Get plenty of fresh air
· Use essential oils and aromatherapy.
Aromatherapy can prove to be a very effective method of achieving a good nights sleep as it can ensure you are in a state of relaxation before you go to bed.
